Optimum Opti-Coat Review - Water Beading after 5 months.

Just uploaded a video showing the water beading of Opti-Coat after 5 months. No special maintenance carried out other than washing with ONR on a regular basis.

The original post on the Opti-Coat can be found here:
http://prodetailing.blogspot.com/2010/05/optimum-opti-coat-review.html

The results are quite impressive considering it has been 5 months without anything being applied to it.

Optimum Opti-Coat Review - Final Update

The Optimum Opti-Coat trial was started about a month ago on a car with clear coat failure to evaluate if the Opti-Coat would act as a 'new' clear coat.
http://prodetailing.blogspot.com/2010/05/optimum-opti-coat-review.html

A follow up update was done two weeks later.
http://prodetailing.blogspot.com/2010/05/optimum-opti-coat-review-update.html

The initial results were simply astounding.

This was the state of the boot before anything was done.

This was what it looked like after compounding, polishing and an application of Optimum Opti-Coat.

After two weeks, there were some issues with the paint fading at the edge of the test area.

Find out how the Opti-Coat is doing after another two weeks, click on the 'Read More' below.

It has now been another two weeks....

I was very keen to find out how the Opti-Coat was holding up as there was some issue of fading in the edge of the test area. As reported in the update two weeks ago, I suspect that this was due to the surface preparation as the rest of the test panel looked great. The only way to confirm this was to evaluate if the fading continue across the rest of the panel.

The Opti-Coat still looks great!!!

I was very anxious to view the results after another two weeks and after a quick ONR wipedown this was the results...

If you compare this with two weeks ago, the faded areas still look the same.

How about the rest of the panel?

Still looking pretty good...

Conclusion:
The Optimum Opti-Coat really does work. Although this was never meant to be its intended purpose, I could think of no better way to test what is supposed to be a second-layer of coating on a car which had clear coat failure.

There was a slight issue with the paint fading in one section of the test area but as the fading was confined to that area, I suspect that this is probably due to issues with the surface preparation.

This will be the final update as the rest of the boot lid will be corrected and sealed with Opti-Coat.

Thank you for your interest in this review.

Feedback on ONR

ONR Step by Step by KC & Feedback from ONR Users.

Optimum No Rinse

Technically not a purely waterless washOptimum No Rinse is quite popular among car detailers. You do need water with it but you need so little. An Optimum No Rinsebath requires only 2 ounce to 2 gallons of water compared to the 50 to 100 gallons it takes to hose down a vehicle. (30 ml of ONR mixing ratio of 8 litres of waters comparing 200 - 400 litres of water use to flushing yr car)
Aside from being eco friendly on its water saving, Optimum No Rinse gives your car a slick, wax like, finish that is very pleasing to the eye. This high tech wash has high tech polymers that bond to the paint to protect it in amazingly the same wipe where it takes out grease and grime. Now that’s a revolutionary product.
a good bath for this stallion

hmmmmm 2 bucket?

where & when u encounter your limitations .....as no splashing of running water & hosing allowed in the covered car park

my solution is diluting ONR optimum no rinse wash 1 ounce to 2 gallon of water 3 caps to 8 litres of water

before..the mixtures

just 3 caps to 8 litres of water & no need a second bucket......as i left the 2nd bucket to rinse off the rims cleaning later

after ONR mixtures....blueish ...water tension now is created to hold dust below & same time washes & lubricate

rear bonnet before wash...

even visible swirls very onvious

after soaking the 1st microfibers in ONR...wipe on & buff dry with

after wash...now u can see TOGWT wax

Mercedes S-Class (W220) Interior Transformation

KC and I were called in to do a rescue on the interior of a Mercedes W220 S-Class.

The owner had a driver and was mainly concerned about the condition of the front driver seat which was noticeably more heavily soiled than the rest of the interior. The original light grey seats were now brown in color and we were called in to see if we could fix this problem.

A combination of leather cleaner and steam was used to clean all of the accumulated dirt and oils absorbed into the leather.

The rest of the interior was also detailed.

The rear control panel was also a real mess. The soft touch rubber coating had melted in the sweltering Malaysian weather and the panel was sticky to touch and looked terrible.

A few hours later....... better than new!!!
